Hi, I'm David Dove and I would love to share my passion for Guitar and Music Teaching with anybody who has the desire to learn. I am looking for keen pupils, learners and musicians of all levels who require tuition in Classical, Acoustic, Bass Guitar and Music Theory.  I am a friendly, caring, patient tutor. My aim is to give students the performance skills and technique's so they can perform to the highest level. I encourage pupils to practice regularly to achieve their full potential. 

 

I am an international performer, songwriter and teacher with many  
years experience performing worldwide and teaching guitar to all ages and abilities. Whether its preparing you for exams, developing an new technique or learning new songs I can tailor each lesson making sure you get the most from your online lesson. 

 

TEACHING APPROACH

I approach lessons in different ways depending on the student. I can teach pop, rock, acoustic, country, classical and folk styles and music theory on Classical, Acoustic or Bass Guitar. I can prepare students for Guitar exams with Rockschool Acoustic Guitar and ABRSM and I'm a qualified private teacher with DBS certificate. Some students prefer to learn in a more modern style so I use music charts to develop their improvisation skills while other students would like to learn new techniques and classical style of playing using notation.  I always ensure students choose the route they are most suited to pursuing.  

 

 WHAT ARE ONLINE LESSONS LIKE? 

I can offer FaceTime, Zoom or Skype lesson's online in either Guitar/Bass or Music Theory and they are like face to face lessons. I can demonstrate techniques, give you tips on your playing in real time and help you learn new songs you've always wanted to play. I provide all lesson materials in the form of PDFs for chord charts, TABs and mp3s for backing tracks and audio examples. These can be sent via email during the lesson. 

 

You have access to a private area where all your Online guitar lesson files are accessible with notes from your guitar lessons, practice plans and any future materials for your next lesson that you can download and print. 

 

Online lessons are 30m, 45m or 1hr long. I normally follow the lesson structure below and I've found this really helps students gain the most from their lessons. 

  • Warm up to get those fingers moving 

  • Review of last weeks lesson 

  • New techniques, new tunes (anything you like) 

  • Upload files to student area.

For your Online lesson you can use the following

  • MacBooks (Pro/Air) 

  • IPad 

  • Iphone 

If you have either an iPad or MacBook Pro or Air they will give you the best experience. PCs are not compatible with FaceTime but they are compatible with Skype.

Once 1st lesson has been booked I will send an email confirming date and time. Lessons payments must be made in blocks of 5 or 10 lessons in advance.
