Dave has guided me through four Registry Of Guitar Tutors Acoustic Guitar Exams, Which have included Initial stage, Preliminary Grade and Acoustic Guitar Grade 1 and Grade 2 all of which were past with Distinction. These grades were achieved by the time and patience Dave puts into my guitar lessons and the confidence he gives me ( currently he is helping me with Acoustic Guitar Grade 3. )”

— Paul

Dave takes the time to find out what and how the children like to learn and adapts his lessons to meet their needs. If the children request to learn a certain piece or style of music Dave will happily oblige as he likes to keep the lessons relevant to them. Dave keeps the teaching sessions relaxed and happy which helps to keep the children focused and enthusiastic. I would highly recommend him to any future employer.”

— Jane

I would definitely recommend Dave to anyone, group, school etc who is looking for a guitar teacher, I have come on in leaps and bounds since Dave has been teaching me. I have grown in confidence the most So I would not hesitate to recommend Dave to anyone and would be pleased to talk to any prospective student.”

— Mandy

Dave showed enthusiasm and sensitivity when working with young people, as well as clear musical skills on guitar and bass. It is nice to see when good musicians put their own need to play second to the job of encouraging and helping others, which Dave did consistently throughout the day. He worked as a team member and was friendly and helpful, a pleasure to work with.”

— Martin

Dave displayed, not only his own considerable musical proficiency on the guitar, but also his ability to work creatively, helpfully and sympathetically with participants with little, or in some cases, no practical musical experience. His approach at all times is warm, friendly and patiently instructive. Dave is honest, helpful and caring. ”

TEACHING APPROACH

I approach lessons in different ways depending on the student. I can teach pop, rock, acoustic, country, classical and folk styles and music theory on Classical, Acoustic or Bass Guitar. I can prepare students for Guitar exams with Rockschool Acoustic Guitar and ABRSM and I'm a qualified private teacher with DBS certificate. Some students prefer to learn in a more modern style so I use music charts to develop their improvisation skills while other students would like to learn new techniques and classical style of playing using notation.  I always ensure students choose the route they are most suited to pursuing.
